Lutkovno gledališče Maribor (Slovenia): Pinocchio

puppet play in English and Hungarian
22.04.2023. Saturday - 11 am
40 min.
Kisfaludy Stage

The well-known story is about an incredible adventure that has been a source of excitement for many generations and is still alive today. Pinocchio is a metaphor for how mistakes can also shape man. Pinocchio is a performance that immerses itself in the puppetry world, immerses in the origin when the puppet is not yet an entirely manufactured and vivid object, but raw, rough material. In this adaptation, we return to the carpenter’s workshop where the carpenter’s tools revive, and pieces of wood on the carpenter's table become a world of its own. Pinocchio goes on a journey, and we go on an exploration of puppetry approaches.

Written by: Carlo Collodi
Directed and adapted by: Matteo Spiazzi
Puppet and set designer: Primož Mihevc
Costume designer: Mojca Bernjak
Cast: Miha Bezeljak

Ants is an enchanting investigation into children’s ability to forge relationships, create imaginary worlds and make meaning with what is around them.
